3 Free Tools For DIY Proofreading

I've been in the Writing and Editing industry from some time now, and have come across some tools and apps that are life-changing. They are the best of the best, and have helped me carry out four projects successfully. And today, I share them with you.
One of the lesser-known apps that highlights lengthy, complex sentences and common errors. It's an excellent resource with a full-featured editor built in. It takes care of:
  • Adverb Usage
  • Passive Voice
  • Complex sentences
The best part is its very visual in its approach. And now it even comes as a Desktop App.
The self-proclaimed #1 Headline Analyzer, a well-deserved title. I use it to write killer headlines for my LinkedIn Pulse articles. For a free signup (and sharing your email), it scores your headline on a scale of 100. It shows:
  • Word Balance
  • Headline Type
  • Length Analysis
  • Keywords Used
  • And my personal favourite, Sentiment.
It has helped me craft incredible headlines innumerable times.
A superb collection of tools with a lovely minimal interface. It contains really nifty tools that are quite tough to find elsewhere. Bonus, no ads. It helps:
  • Remove line breaks from text
  • Remove Duplicate Lines
  • Capitalize the First letter of Sentences
  • And my personal favourite, Change to Uppercase Text or Lowercase Text.
That's it for now, folks. These three are amazing tools and apps that have not only helped me edit/proofread, but have also improved my English. And that's what matters in the long term.
I'll keep updating this article as I find more nifty tools to use. Do comment below with any apps/tools that you think should be added to this list.
